During the attacks, Nyx failed to save his sister and lost most of his family. Together with his best friend Libertus, he came to the Crown City as a refugee. As a young teenager he was once saved by king Regis himself, and so found it only logical he would answer his request for refugees to join his kingsglaive (if they showed aptitude in magic, of course). A group of elite soldiers serving directly beneath the king, they borrow his magic to defend the borders. Nyx has exceptional skills in warping and magic use, using the magic seemingly effortlessly where many would feel sick or drained of a single use. He lives in a lower area of the city, where most refugees gathered, giving it a different almost foreign atmosphere compared to the upper city. Like all Galahdans, he misses his home, the forests and the river, a stark contrast to the city he now lives in. He hopes to one day return, when the war is over. Nyx is still haunted by being unable to save his sister, and it's one of the reasons he pushes himself hard to protect anyone who is in danger, to the extent of risking his own life. This, along with his extreme skills on the battlefield, have gained him the title of hero amongst the glaives.
